One day-time hour of structured driving tuition by a professional driving instructor will count for three hours in the learner driver log book, capped at a maximum of 10 one-hour lessons counting as 30 log book hours.

One night-time hour with a driving school will be counted as 1 night hour plus 2 day hours.

Also, learner drivers who are 25 years old or over will no longer be required to complete a log book.

UPDATE:
With the introduction of the Safer Drivers Course in 2013 another 20 hours can be slashed off your log book.
